切々とした哀調を特徴とし、心中物を中心に唄も三味線も泣くように語り弾き、江戸庶民の語り物としてたいへん親しまれた「新内節」をどうぞお楽しみください。
■新内とは…
新内節（しんないぶし）は江戸浄瑠璃の一つで、宮古路豊後掾が創始した豊後節の系統、鶴賀若狭掾（つるがわかさのじょう）の門弟・二代目鶴賀新内（つるがしんない）の美声が一世を風靡したことからその名になりました。当初は歌舞伎にも出演していましたが、やがて歌舞伎から離れ、流しや寄席といった営業方法をとるに至り、独自の発展を遂げました。代表作に「蘭蝶」「明烏夢泡雪」「伊太八」などがあります。
